PRESS RELEASE— SourcePoint’s Cafe 55 will resume operations one day a week on Fridays, 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., beginning Aug. 6. Several new protocols will be introduced to improve the efficiency of the cafe, as well as help protect staff, volunteers, and guests during the current pandemic. This includes how meals are served, limited capacity of four guests per table, and disinfecting tables between guests.
In addition, guests will now use a touchscreen kiosk to sign in. The kiosk, supported by Greif, Inc., allows Delaware County residents 55 and older to scan their SourcePoint ComPASS, or community pass, to sign in.
Guests 55 and older who are visiting the cafe for the first time since the pandemic closure are required to fill out a registration form. Forms can be returned prior to the cafe opening via mail or dropped at the front desk at 800 Cheshire Road, Delaware. Forms, as well as a video demonstrating how to use the sign-in kiosk, can be found at MySourcePoint.org/cafes.
SourcePoint’s community cafes at Georgetown, St. Michael’s, and White Lily Chapel are also open one day a week. Details can be found on the website, including how to make reservations for off-site cafes. Cafes will expand capacity and open additional days in phases throughout the rest of the year.
