Medicare and Mental Health

Mental illness does not discriminate. It doesn’t matter how old you are, your gender, your race, or how much money you have. It’s just as important to take care of your mental health as it is to take care of your physical health.

Mental health services help diagnose and treat people with mental health disorders, like depression and anxiety. Medicare covers a number of services to support you, including outpatient mental health services like depression screening, individual and group psychotherapy, and family counseling. You may be able to access many of these services via telehealth.
