The Employee Success Partner serves as the organization’s lead for human resources operations and employee relations, functioning at a manager level with full responsibility for ensuring compliant, consistent, and effective HR practices across the agency.

This role is responsible for delivering a high-quality employee experience across the lifecycle while ensuring a coordinated, well-supported, and effective volunteer program.

This role operates as a strategic and operational leader, not an administrative support function, requiring a hands-on approach to both leadership and execution.

  • Reports to: Chief Financial Officer
  • FLSA: Full-time. Salary. Exempt.
  • Pay: Starting at $69,000
  • Benefits: health insurance, dental insurance, vision insurance, retirement savings plan (even if you do not contribute), and generous paid time off

Essential Job Functions

Human Resources Leadership & Operations

  • Lead and oversee daily HR operations across the organization
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to leadership on HR matters
  • Exercise independent judgment in HR program administration
  • Ensure HR systems and processes are efficient and compliant

Recruitment, Onboarding & Retention

    • Oversee full-cycle recruitment and hiring processes
    • Ensure structured onboarding for all new hires
    • Monitor retention trends and support engagement strategies
    • Ensure compliance with hiring and credentialing requirements

    Volunteer Program Oversight

      • Supervise the Volunteer Engagement Specialist
      • Establish, standardize, and ensure consistent execution of an organization-wide volunteer program
      • Ensure consistent onboarding, training, and engagement
      • Maintain accountability for volunteer program effectiveness and compliance

      Payroll, Benefits & Compensation

      • Oversee payroll coordination and review processes to ensure accuracy and compliance
      • Support payroll reporting and budgeting
      • Serve as primary benefits resource
      • Maintain compensation structures and benchmarking

      Compliance & Risk Management

      • Ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations
      • Maintain HR policies and documentation
      • Ensure audit readiness through proper documentation and internal controls
      • Oversee HIPAA-related compliance for employee benefits

      Employee Relations & Organizational Development

      • Support employee relations, coaching, and performance management
      • Participate in disciplinary processes and investigations
      • Support leadership development and engagement initiatives

      Training & Committees

      • Coordinate compliance and policy training
      • Support organizational development initiatives
      • Chair the TIDE Committee
      • Support Wellness, Safety, and Communications Committees

      Supervisory Responsibilities

      • Direct supervision of Volunteer Engagement Specialist
      • Provide guidance to leadership on employee management practices
      • May provide oversight to HR-related administrative support roles
      Education & Experience
      • Bachelor’s degree in HR or related field
      • 5–7 years of progressive HR experience
      • Leadership or supervisory experience required
      • SHRM certification preferred

      • Strong knowledge of employment law and HR practices
      • Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills
      • Strong organizational and leadership abilities
      • High level of professionalism and confidentiality
      Working Conditions
      • Prolonged sitting and computer use
      • Occasional lifting up to 20 pounds
      • Local travel as needed
