Arts and Education Manager
Summary

The Arts and Education Supervisor is responsible for developing, implementing, and supervising a range of arts and education experiences designed to promote optimal aging for a growing population of Delaware County residents 55 and better. The Arts and Education Supervisor is responsible for planning, staffing, day-to-day oversight, and implementation of all arts and education programs.

  • Reports to: Community Programs Administrator
  • FLSA: Full-Time. Salary. Nonexempt
  • Pay: Starting $46,000
  • Benefits: health insurance, dental insurance, vision insurance, retirement savings plan (even if you do not contribute), and generous paid time off
Essential Job Functions

Program Development

  • Supervise all arts and education programming at SourcePoint, developing approximately 100 offerings each quarter to SourcePoint members
  • Develop, organize, and implement quality arts and education programs on a broad range of focus areas based on member feedback and available instructors
  • Assist the administrator in the oversight of the program area budget
  • Oversee program supply inventory and equipment needs, assisting in necessary supply purchases and recommending equipment purchases

Program Delivery & Facilitation

  • Provide programming in both physical locations, including SourcePoint buildings and in the community, and on virtual platforms, including pre-recorded and online streaming.
  • Oversee program delivery to ensure programming aligns with mission and is delivered effectively
  • Teach arts and educational classes, as needed

Supervision

  • Supervise the arts and education program staff including providing direction, support, guidance and oversight
  • Supervise volunteer and contracted instructors by overseeing scheduling, sourcing new instructors, monitoring performance and supporting instructor engagement and satisfaction
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in education, arts education, fine arts, or related field preferred or equivalent experience
  • Experience in personnel management and supervision
  • Minimum of three years’ professional experience in program development, coordination, and implementation, in the arts and/or life-long learning, preferably with older adults
  • Demonstrated experience in budget management
  • Skilled at developing long-range plans in an organized and thoughtful manner
  • Excellent computer skills, including fluency with basic software products, including Office 365 and resource management software
  • Well-developed communication skills, including the ability to read, comprehend, and write professional correspondence, and present publicly
  • Clear understanding of the importance of confidentiality
  • Knowledge of the services provided by SourcePoint and a commitment to serving older adults and volunteers
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights or weekends as necessary
Required Skills & Abilities
  • Ability to create environments conducive to learning for constituents, promote a positive work culture within the organization, and project a positive image of the organization in the community
  • Ability to plan and coordinate both ongoing and future programs concurrently; manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse group of partners, including fellow staff members, community organizations, volunteers, and professionals in a variety of fields
  • Ability to provide feedback on participant work by providing verbal instruction, hearing participant questions and seeing participant work
  • Serve as Person in Charge, as scheduled, including occasional evening hours
Essential Physical Requirements & Working Conditions
  • Able to work extended periods at a computer/on a phone
  • Able to move around the building
  • Able to lift to 20 lbs. without assistance

In any organization, particularly a small organization, it is necessary to assume new responsibilities necessary to ensure a smooth continuity of operations within the organization.  It is expected that other organizational needs will emerge, which will be assigned to the Arts and Education Supervisor.
