POSITION DESCRIPTION
Café 55 Line Server volunteers bring joy to SourcePoint’s dining center on Cheshire Road. Working alongside a SourcePoint chef, these volunteers plate food for Café 55 diners, answer questions related to the day’s menu, and assist with teardown of the service line at the end of the shift. They have a fundamental role in creating a clean and pleasant atmosphere for diners. Volunteers enjoy a free lunch during their shift.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Volunteers must be able to be on their feet for an extended time, communicate clearly, and maintain proper hygiene which includes wearing gloves.
TRAINING
SourcePoint Volunteer Orientation, food safety presentation, and onsite training.
TIME COMMITMENT
Typically, one 3-hour shift per week, from 10:45am-1:45pm, and some possible substituting.
LOCATION
Café 55 is at SourcePoint’s Cheshire Road location.
DRESS CODE
Apron over casual but appropriate clothing and a hairnet or ballcap. Volunteer badge recommended.
SUPPORT
The Food Services Manager or other kitchen staff member supports the Café Line Server volunteers.
