POSITION DESCRIPTION
Kitchen assistants work alongside SourcePoint’s chefs to prepare, pack, and serve 1,200 meals a day for Meals on Wheels and Community Cafes. They are mostly morning people who enjoy the camaraderie of a team and the bustling environment of a kitchen.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Volunteers must be able to stand unaided, move about, and push a cart. Some lifting may be involved.
TRAINING
SourcePoint Volunteer Orientation, Food & Safety training, and annual nutrition department training.
TIME COMMITMENT
A typical kitchen assistant volunteers for one shift a week from about 7-11am. Some afternoon positions may be available on Wednesdays or Thursdays.
LOCATION
SourcePoint’s Cheshire Road location.
DRESS CODE
Long pants, closed-toe shoes, SourcePoint t-shirt, baseball cap (or hair net), and volunteer badge.
SUPPORT
The Sous Chef supports SourcePoint’s Kitchen Assistants.
