SourcePoint CEO, Fara Waugh and Chief Programs Officer, Karen Waltermeyer were presented with a Delaware County, Ohio Proclamation recognizing May 2023 as Older Americans Month.
During the presentation, Waugh shared ways in which we can all participate in the annual celebration saying,
“Begin by embracing the opportunity to change. Push boundaries by not letting age define your limits. Find a new passion and try new activities that may bring growth, joy, and energy.”
She went on to encourage listeners to explore the rewards of growing older.
“With age comes experience and knowledge, which inspires insight and confidence to understand and experience the world more deeply. Stay engaged in your community. Volunteer, work, mentor, participate in social clubs, and take part in community programs. Form relationships, which enhance the quality of life of those new folks you relate to, as well as your own, through the introduction and exchange of new ideas and unique perspectives. If we all take these steps as we age, our community will be one in which everyone 55 and better is empowered to live life to the fullest.”
Wagh finished by thanking Delaware County for the continued support of SourcePoint and the County Commissioners for proclaiming May Older Americans Month.
