We are looking for a skilled and passionate Community Engagement Manager to join the Community Programs team. The Community Engagement Manager will play a key role in enhancing SourcePoint’s presence and impact within our local community.
Summary
The primary responsibilities of this position are to assist in the expansion of and access to programming designed for adults 55+ and caregivers. The Community Engagement Manager plans, develops, and manages a broad array of community partnerships and program offerings, both at SourcePoint and throughout the greater Delaware County area. Such programming includes but is not limited to caregiver support, insurance education, health education, and social programs.
Essential Job Functions
Management of Community Engagement Team
- Management and oversight of all community education (caregiver, insurance, falls prevention, chronic disease self-management), social, and travel programs, as well as program staff, resources, and equipment
- Provides direct supervision to the staff within program areas of oversight as listed
- Recruiting, hiring, and managing staff and contractors as needed to serve as instructors for the above-noted programs. Includes maintaining time records, evaluating work, and periodically reviewing instructors
- Leads and oversees budget development and management for Community Engagement Programs
Collaborative Connections with Community Partners
- Works collaboratively with community partners in planning and developing programs in fulfillment of SourcePoint’s mission and department goals
- Represents SourcePoint at community events and meetings
- Prepares and submits reports for funding organizations
- Maintains a thorough understanding of all the programs and services provided and supported by SourcePoint. This includes an understanding of SourcePoint services and programs, as well as the programs supported through our partnerships
Program Delivery
- Serves on internal committees and assists with SourcePoint community events
- Leads community engagement team in scheduling programming to meet agency and departmental goals
- Support the facilitation of evidence-based and evidence-informed programming
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in human services, nonprofit management, education, or related degree.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in program development and/or implementation.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in direct supervision
- Professional familiarity with the issues surrounding aging, such as family caregiver challenges and Medicare education, evidence-based education, legal and financial planning, health maintenance and chronic disease awareness, geriatric care, and local resources available to older adults in the support and maintenance of their health and welfare.
Required Skills & Abilities
- Functions as Person in Charge per schedule
- Knowledge of training techniques and workshop development skills and experience in coordinating and facilitating training, education, and technical assistance with individuals and groups.
- Natural ability to work collaboratively with a diverse group of partners, including fellow staff members, community organizations, caregivers, volunteers, clients, and human services professionals
- Excellent written and oral communication skills are required. Must be computer and MS Office literate
- Ability to meet deadlines and successfully handle multiple tasks, as well as to manage ongoing and future programming concurrently
- Ability to deal with ambiguity and change on a routine basis
- Must have strong organizational and administrative skills and the ability to prepare professional correspondence and reports
- Ability to promote a positive work culture throughout the organization and community and to routinely interact with the public
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights or weekends as necessary
Essential Physical Requirements & Working Conditions
- Ability to lift 20 lbs. regularly without assistance.
- Ability to drive to and from meetings, events, etc., as assigned.

In any organization, particularly a small one, it is necessary to assume new responsibilities to ensure a smooth continuity of operations. It is expected that other organizational needs will emerge, which will be assigned to the Community Engagement Manager.
