Client Services Supervisor

The role of the Client Services Supervisor is to lead and supervise SourcePoint client services employees in their delivery of interventions and interactions with clients. This individual must be experienced in client assessment, care plan development, and case management and be licensed to practice social work or counseling in Ohio.

  • Reports to: Client Services Administrator
  • FLSA: Full-Time; Exempt
  • Pay Range: $26-$36/hour

Summary

Working under the direct supervision of the Client Services Administrator, the Client Services Supervisor will provide supervision and leadership of their employees in the delivery of client services and will supervise all activities related to the delivery and interventions involving the interactions with clients. The Client Services Supervisor will be responsible for providing direct supervision of 7-9 licensed social workers/counselors, information & referral specialists, and service coordinators providing intake and referral, information sharing and resource linkage, advocacy, case management, service coordination, and other client services, as assigned. Essential Job Functions & Expectations
  • Assists Client Services Administrator with administrative and planning tasks as needed and requested.
  • Recruitment and screening of potential candidates for social work/counselor and other departmental staff positions and making selection recommendations to the Client Services Administrator.
  • Provides orientation and training of new hires and works with existing employees in their professional development.
  • Prepares work assignments and monitors and evaluates work performed by staff to ensure the quality of client care, utilization of services, and professional practices.
  • Provides direction, supervision, support, and guidance to all staff members who report to the Client Services Supervisor which supports and enhances their application of agency policy, standardized knowledge, interventions, skills, competency, and applicable ethical content in their work and interactions with clients.
  • Provide professional and technical assistance to staff regarding complicated health and psychosocial consumer situations and assist staff in making proper consumer assessments and appropriate referrals to agencies providing services to older adults.
  • Provides administrative, supportive, and educational supervision to their direct reports, and other team members as assigned, to ensure that all employees are adhering to agency and professional policies and program goals.
  • Identifies employee actions that might pose a threat of danger to the clients and take prompt remedial actions; and identifies and addresses any condition that may impair an employee’s ability to perform their jobs safely, keeping the Client Services Administrator informed.
  • Possesses a thorough knowledge and understanding of social work principles and practices, as well as all facets of care management.
  • In-Home Care Services, including intake, advocacy, client assessment, care planning, authorization of services, monitoring, and all duties related to the delivery of services through this program.
  • Possesses a thorough knowledge and understanding of service coordination practices and all facets of the FIRST program, including client finding, advocacy, assessment, service planning, and referral, and all duties related to the delivery of services through this program.
  • Understand the In-Home Care Services volunteer program and all facets of this service.
  • Assumes responsibilities as Information and Referral Specialist, Care Consultant, Volunteer Program Specialist, and FIRST Service Coordinator, as necessary to meet client needs related to staffing.
  • Works closely with the Quality Assurance Department in implementing improved practice standards, client outcomes, and customer service.
  • Participates in community education activities and acts as support group facilitator, as necessary.
  • Participates in community meetings/committees that relate to clinical/direct services as requested.
  • Participates in professional growth opportunities and maintains current license.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in social work or related field required, master’s degree preferred.
  • Licensed to practice social work or counseling in Ohio, with an independent license preferred.
  • Minimum of five years of social service experience, with experience in the supervision of professional social workers preferred. A master’s degree may substitute for 2 years of experience.
  • Experience working with older adults and a thorough understanding of the social service delivery system in Delaware County is preferred.
  • Experience in client assessment, care plan development, and case management.
  • Must possess computer proficiency and experience working with MS Office and other software programs.

  • Ability to work cooperatively with a diverse group of human service professionals and organizations.
  • Must possess excellent communication skills and the ability to speak before large and small groups.
  • Must be creative and have the ability to deal with ambiguity and change on a routine basis.
  • Must be willing to submit to and pass criminal background checks per agency policy.
  • Must be organized and able to meet deadlines and successfully handle multiple tasks.
  • Ability to promote a positive work culture both within the organization and in the community.
Essential Physical Requirements & Working Conditions
  • Must be able to lift and/or exert up to 20 pounds regularly without assistance.
  • Ability to drive to and from home visits, meetings, events, etc. regularly and as assigned.
  • Ability to safely navigate uneven terrain and stairs.
  • Ability to work with individuals in diverse living situations and conditions including the ability to work in environments where there is potential for exposure to animals, second-hand smoke, unpleasant odors, etc.

It is recognized that in any organization, particularly a small organization, it is necessary to assume new responsibilities appropriate to ensure smooth continuity of operations within the organization. Not only is the Client Services Supervisor required to wear many hats, but it is expected that this person will be familiar with the work of others to the point of being able to fill in temporarily. It is also anticipated that other organizational needs will emerge from time to time, which will be assigned to the Client Services Supervisor.
