SourcePoint is seeking an experienced professional in human resources, payroll processing, and benefits administration to fill the position of Human Resources Generalist. This individual will play a key role in fostering a professional image of SourcePoint and promoting positive relationships with employees, clients, and external partners.
Summary
The Human Resources Generalist works under the supervision of the Human Resources Manager and is responsible for the administration of key human resources functions. This includes payroll processing, benefits administration, maintaining HR databases, preparing reports, providing internal customer service, and ensuring employee compliance with organizational policies. The Human Resources Generalist plays a key role in fostering a professional image of SourcePoint and promoting positive relationships with employees, clients, and external partners.
Essential Job Functions
Benefits Administration
- Coordinates company-wide employee health, welfare, and retirement plans, including but not limited to: 403(b) Retirement Plan, medical/dental insurance, short- and long-term disability, life insurance, workers’ compensation, leaves of absence, and Flexible Spending (Section 125).
- Manages payments to third-party benefit providers and resolves any employee benefits issues, promoting effective use of plans and fostering positive employee relations.
Payroll Administration
- Receives, reviews, and processes bi-weekly timesheets, ensuring accuracy of PTO usage, holiday pay, and payroll changes.
- Prepares payroll reports for review by the Human Resources Manager and accounting department.
- Oversees data entry, filing, and record maintenance for personnel files, and manages employee renewals and HR compliance, including background checks, validating insurance coverage, driver’s license renewals, and professional licensure.
New Hire Onboarding
- Assists the Human Resources Manager and Volunteer Recruiter in onboarding and orienting new employees and volunteers.
- Prepares and reviews new-hire paperwork for accuracy and completeness, schedules background checks, and conducts HR orientation for new employees.
- Orders name tags, business cards, and other necessary materials.
Employee Relations
- Serve as a point of contact for employee concerns, providing guidance and resolution while ensuring adherence to organizational policies and procedures.
- Mediate and resolve employee conflicts to foster a positive and inclusive work environment aligned with the organization’s mission, referring severe conflicts and complaints to management.
- Assist with investigations into employee grievances or complaints, documenting findings and recommending appropriate actions
Continuous Improvement Planning
- Reviews current HR processes and identifies opportunities for improvements in efficiency and effectiveness.
- Learns and maximizes the use of HR software to improve workflow.
- Recommends and implements process enhancements related to HR functions.
Education & Experience
- A bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is required.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in human resources, payroll processing, and benefits administration.
Required Skills & Abilities
- Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and HR-related software.
- Experience with payroll software and reporting.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and project coordination skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively and work independently.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Essential Physical Requirements & Working Conditions
- Prolonged periods of sitting and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift to 15 pounds occasionally.
- Occasional outdoor activities in various environmental conditions.
Other
It is recognized that in any organization, particularly a small organization, it is necessary to assume new responsibilities appropriate to ensure a smooth continuity of operations within the organization. Not only is the community aging planner required to wear many hats, but it is expected that this person will be familiar with the work of others to the point of being able to fill in temporarily. It is also anticipated that other organizational needs will emerge from time to time which will be assigned to the planner.
