DELAWARE COUNTY—SourcePoint joined the Delaware County Board of Commissioners this morning to present a proclamation recognizing May 2025 as Older Americans Month. The national observance honors the contributions of older adults and highlights the importance of community engagement and inclusion for all generations.
This year’s theme, “Flip the Script on Aging,” challenges outdated stereotypes and celebrates the vibrant, purposeful lives led by older adults in Delaware County and across the nation. From working and volunteering to mentoring and caregiving, older adults continue to shape our community in meaningful ways.
“Older Americans Month is a chance to honor the lived experiences, resilience, and ongoing contributions of our aging population,” said Amelia Tucciarone, Chief Programs Officer, who addressed the commissioners on behalf of SourcePoint. “We’re proud to work alongside community leaders to support individuals as they age and to promote a more inclusive, age-friendly Delaware County.”
The proclamation emphasizes the need to reframe aging as a dynamic phase of life—one filled with opportunities for connection, growth, and continued engagement. It calls upon all residents to celebrate older adults and foster a community where people of every age, ability, and background are empowered to thrive.
As the county’s leader in aging services, SourcePoint offers programs that promote independence, wellness, and lifelong learning for adults 55 and older. The organization encourages the public to get involved during Older Americans Month by recognizing the value of older adults and supporting policies and programs that uplift the aging population.
