Driving keeps us connected—to the people we care about, the places we enjoy, and the community we’re proud to be part of. During National Older Driver Safety Week, the SAFE Delaware County Coalition and Age-Friendly Delaware County invite you to celebrate the experience, knowledge, and skills that make great drivers even greater. Join us for engaging conversations, hands-on activities, and expert tips to help you stay confident and comfortable on every journey. 

Here’s What’s Happening

🚍 Monday, Dec. 1 — Alternatives to Driving with Delaware County Transit and SourcePoint 
Meet Kathy Laughlin, DCT Mobility Manager, and our own Jill Smith, SourcePoint’s Mobility Manager. Stop by to explore easy, convenient ride options, get personalized guidance, and find the best fit for your everyday trips. 

🚦 Tuesday, Dec. 2 — Traffic Talk with ODOT 
Join Katie Wright, PE, RSP1, Traffic Safety Engineer, for ODOT’s Stay Fit to Drive program. Learn how to adapt to changing driving conditions and stay safe on today’s roads. 

❄️ Wednesday, Dec. 3 — Trooper Talk: Winter Driving 
Winter roads can be tricky, but Lt. Rob Curry, Post Commander of the Ohio State Highway Patrol, will share expert advice and local insights to help you stay safe, steady, and prepared. 

🧠 Thursday, Dec. 4 — Tune Up Your Driving Skills with OhioHealth 
Join Brandy Heistand, Occupational Therapist and Certified Driving Instructor from OhioHealth Neurological Rehabilitation, for an open discussion about driving safely as we age. You can also test your brake-reaction time and learn practical strategies to stay sharp behind the wheel. 

🚗 Bonus Event: Thursday, Dec. 4, 1–3 p.m. — CARFiT at Delaware Fire Station 304 (across the street from SourcePoint) 
Get a free “fit check” for you and your car at the Delaware Fire Station 304 (821 Cheshire Road, Delaware). The CARFiT team will help ensure your vehicle is adjusted for your safest and most comfortable driving experience. 


Join the Conversation! Each day offers an open-table discussion from 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.  You’ll meet friendly experts, explore local resources, and leave with practical tips and renewed confidence to keep enjoying the road ahead.

Registration for the next quarter starts on December 15th.  Check out the driving-related programs we’ll be offering in the Transitions in Aging brochure.  Membership at SourcePoint is free for any Delaware County resident 55 years or older.  Some programs are offered for a fee, and scholarships are available.
